Born in 1993 in Jhenaidah, Md. Imtiaj Islam now resides and works in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He serves as a practicing artist and art educator in the Department of Fine Arts, translating diverse life experiences into a visual language for his artwork. His intention is to explore cultural, environmental, and geographical identity through his visual diary. The artist engages in live sketchbook entries during travels, capturing observations and collecting spontaneous visual references, which later transform into drawings, paintings, installations, and site-specific artwork. Holding a BFA from the University of Dhaka and an MFA from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, India, he currently works as a Lecturer at the Department of Fine Arts, Islamic University, Kushtia.
